Requirements Engineer / Business Analyst Insurance / Underwriting / Reinsurance (m/f/d)

Your Skills
- Several years of experience in requirements engineering / business analysis, preferably in the insurance industry
- Several years of experience in IT, preferably in application development and hence in-depth knowledge of the processes of the entire software development and product life cycle in an agile mode
- Demonstrable experience in documenting requirements as use cases, user stories, logical data model, including modeling in e.g. UML using Sparx Enterprise Architect
- Track record of successful implementations that delivered value to the business
- Experience in managing various stakeholders
- University degree, preferably in Computer Engineering / IT or similar qualification (nice to have)
- Experience with managing product backlog in Azure DevOps (nice to have)
- Understanding of reinsurance core business processes (underwriting) (nice to have)
- Know How in geo data / geo science / geospatial and map services desirable (nice to have)
- Languages: English (must have); German (nice to have)

Your Tasks
- Project description: The GDS (Geo Data Services) provides geospatial and map services. The legacy web application, based on web services and remote services, will be rewritten for the cloud.
- From January 2025 to December 2025 the client is enhancing GDS with additional functionality including bug fixing. Among other topics the following topics are currently planned: Geocoding Services, Location Information Services, Map Services and Complex Analysis Services
- In 2025, the current component for map visualization (Riskmapper) will be replaced. The priority is to modernize the current application as a basis for new features.
- Requirement Engineering Tasks:
- Understand capabilities of legacy solution and prepare artefacts for the developer and tester with focus on efficient replacement of the application.
- Translate Product Owner and stakeholder requirements into detailed technical specifications and identify conflicts and inconsistencies
- Validate and verify requirements and prioritization through reviews and feedback loops.
- Maintain backlog structure on Azure DevOps, create backlog items to document requirements and manage backlog items.
- Create clear and concise requirement documents, e.g, User Stories and/or diagrams.
- Create and maintain actor catalogue, domain model and functional requirements.
- Establish and maintain traceability links between requirements and other project artifacts
